Tonight marks the first-ever game 7 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It’s do or die. After Crosby and Malkin went down, a lot of us couldn’t even see the Penguins contending. But, they did. Even without 2 of the best players in the world, the Penguins managed to hold an above .500 record for the remainder of the season. Without that kind of performance, the Penguins would not be where they are tonight, a game 7 in Pittsburgh. Without that effort, the Penguins could very well golfing right now. But, they’re not….yet. Tonight is a chance for the Penguins to prove everyone wrong, to prove that they can tough it out and prosper in the face of adversity. The only way to do that, is to shut the Lightning down. To cut off every pass, to finish off every check, and to stop every puck. Come tomorrow, the Penguins may and could very well be out of the playoffs. But until then, there is hope. Hope that every fan in Consol Energy Center will wear white. Hope that every fan will cheer like they never have before. Hope that Jeff Jimerson brings a spark to this team. And most of all, hope that these Pittsburgh Penguins put it all on the line for our city tonight. Go Pens.
This is a 2 and 1/2 minute video about the Psychology Department at Edinboro University. The full video is still in the works and will be completed by August, 2011. For this project we combined interviews, b-roll, and a voice over to make everything come together smoothly.
Video Essay for Advanced Video. This is a video essay involving my dad and the mouse who took his pistachios. Unfortunately he killed all the mice so I had to improvise. The purpose of this video is to tell the story with just video and no use of dialogue or music.
Interview for Advanced Video. For our interview project I spoke with the Women’s basketball coach and 2 players. I chose specific sound clips and played b-roll over the players and coach so it wasn’t just the person talking.
This is a section of ESPN’s E:60 featuring Dwayne Wade and his mother.
Critique: Right off the bat they use excellent imagery with a voice over and switch back and forth from that to natural sound and so on. The voice over sets up the story by giving us a preview of what it’s about, coupled with Mrs. Wade preaching. The interviews are great. It was nice to have Dwayne and his mom together, then Dwayne, his mom, his sister, his dad, etc. During his dad’s interview they showed him, then showed him on the television which I thought was cool. It was also nice to have Dwayne Wade being interviewed on the steps of his childhood home.
Overall, it was an excellent production. It told more than just the rags to riches story by getting in depth with his family members and by an outstanding use of imagery. The composition of the interviews were great, especially the non-studio interview on the steps.
This is a photo essay I made for Advanced Video Production. It’s describing the story of the 2009 Pittsburgh Penguins as they avenged their 2008 loss, by coming back to win the Stanley Cup.
